Galaxy Nexus with Sprint LTE outed by online ad

Well, well, look what we have here. The wildly popular Galaxy Nexus phone which at the moment, is available in the United States only for Verizon Wireless, is supposedly coming to Sprint. Yes, you heard right. Some tech reader out there spotted the Ice Cream Sandwich-infused device on an ad that appeared on CNET’s website.
Naturally, a screen shot of the ad grabbed some pretty interesting tidbits, which has Sprint’s variant toting a 1.5GHz processor instead of the 1.2GHz proc as seen in the international and Verizon models. It’s not yet known as to what chip-set manufacturer the third largest carrier in the United States will using. The Sprint Galaxy Nexus will also carry the same 4.65-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen found on the other models.
This is perfect timing on the part of The Now Network, (albeit, unintentionally) as the company just announced its plans to roll out its LTE network in select southern cities in mid-2012. This whole thing is super strange, especially with the Consumer Electronics Show right around the corner. That said, we wouldn’t be all surprised if Sprint spilled the beans on its first LTE handset at CES. It’s funny, just when I was becoming jealous of Verizon users having the Galaxy Nexus, it looks like it’ll come to Sprint — can’t wait.
